Pearl Jam Announces New Album "Gigaton" out March 27

After a week of mysterious social media posts which sent fans on a scavenger hunt across their hometowns, Pearl Jam has finally announced their newest studio album Gigaton out March 27th.

Invested fans who followed last week's social media teasing, eventually discovered coordinates in select cities around the world, which led them to a billboard or poster of the band's latest album artwork. Once at the secret location, fans could hold up their phones and use a designated Instagram filter, in which AR technology would kick in and enhance the poster to start moving.

The album, which is their first studio album since 2013's Lightning Bolt was announced Monday afternoon, along with a North American tour set to kick off in Toronto on March 18th.

Lead guitarist Mike McCeady announced on the Pearl Jam website, that making this record "was a long journey," he continued "it was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times." (via pearljam.com)

Note: Pearl Jam will be working alongside Ticketmaster closely to ensure tickets don't end up on secondary markets. They will be monitoring fan-to-fan resales, ensuring all tickets that can't be used are sold at face value. Those who attend the concert must enter with the person who bought the tickets.
